Uk Camps for adult beginners?
« on: August 19, 2024, 04:58:26 am »
Hello! i am really struggling to find any skating camps for adult beginners in the UK. Does anyone know of any? or if they even exist?

I started skating in January 2024, and started 1:1 private coaching in March 2024. I’m a Level 3 fundamentals Skate UK which i know isn’t much, but i started at 20 and have to afford it. I skate at least once a week and try to as much as i can.

Skating is honestly my lifesaver, i love it so much and i really want to find a camp to attend!! it would be a dream

any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Events (iceskating.org.uk)

This page has details of a recent event in Dundee - it may be worth contacting British Ice Skating to ask if they know of any future camps, or where to look.

There are quarterly ice dance camps plus a social at Planet Ice Bristol. Run by Hugh Sackwild, they're good fun and great on technique, too. If you go to the Planet Ice website and look under the lessons part for Bristol, you'll should find details. There was one last Friday, so the next one should be about 3 months or so away.
Returned to the ice in Sept 2017 after a major leg injury in 1999. Skating in Jackson Elite Pro & MK Vision Syncro. Still scary after all these years.
