Ice Partner Search - UK location
« on: March 27, 2024, 05:58:44 pm »
https://icepartnersearch.com/searchbyqualities.php
Location = United Kingdom

Only two people are listed (as of today); not so very long ago there used to be about twenty people.

Anybody know, or guess, as to the reason behind the recent decrease?
Also has anybody noticed NISA/BIS promoting pairs/dance partnerships?
I've noticed that Mark Hanretty is including partnered skating in his popular skate camps.

I don't know why it would have decreased.  I am out of the loop now as far as the "figure skating scene" goes.  Has it recovered the numbers it had before "lockdowns"?

I think it was after lockdowns that it started to dip; however as it states on the help page, if the profile is not updated for 6 months it gets 'delisted', so there might of been a delay. I did think for a moment that it might be due to skaters (and parents) using different avenues, but if you search location Canada, or the United States there are still plenty listed.

I’m amazed so many still do pairs and dance given the difficulty of finding a suitable partner in the same area

Solo dance must have filled a gap in the market for people who want to compete without jumping
