Stores in London
« on: October 31, 2023, 11:27:30 pm »
Do you know any stores where I can try on Edea, Riedell and Jackson boots in (C) London?  I know that Edea has only one official reseller but it’s 2h north of London so kind of inconvenient.

I would like to buy a bit wider fit so kind of important to try those on in person and compare the brands simultaneously. Most stores are either online or carry only limited selection (mainly amateur level ones).
Thanks!

There is also Skate Attack in Turnpike Lane, Slick Willies in Kensington may have some ice skates, there is also a rink shop at Guildford and one at Milton Keynes both of which are an easy commute from London. There may be a shop at Lee Valley but not sure, and there is a shop in Chelmsford easily findable on the internet- again an easy journey from London. Rod Turner sharpens every 6 weeks at Guildford and Chelmsford and has a good stock but email in advance as he doesn’t bring with by default. Email address is in the recent sharpening thread.

To add; Slough is 30 minutes from Paddington by train; there’s a shop at the rink:

A-ha, looks like there's a shop at the Romford ice rink.

If you click on the Virtual Tour link; select the menu(top left); select Ice Rink; click on the 2nd image.
You can see it's over to the right of the ice rink.
I can't seem to find a link for the shop details right now though.
15/30 minutes from London Liverpool Street by train.

I’ve been a few times and never seen the shop open so maybe best to call before travelling

Nice rink - Sunday night session is chilled vibe with regulars- hockey and figure

I'd highly recommend making an appointment with Everglides and travelling down to Gosport. They do things properly and you're likely to save a lot of time, money and pain.
Returned to the ice in Sept 2017 after a major leg injury in 1999. Skating in Jackson Elite Pro & MK Vision Syncro. Still scary after all these years.

I can’t speak for Everglides but I have visited some of the other shops mentioned and while they were perfectly pleasant I can’t say the fitting advice or indeed the selection was overwhelmingly good so it may well be worth considering WM’s suggestion
