Thanks for the info on Everglides - as and when I get fed up with my boots/they fall apart I will certainly contact them.  It seems too good to be true to me.  Also they are unlikely to be happy to order in several sizes/width fittings/brands.  I completely understand why dealers do this, and I am fine with it.  It's one of the consequences of being into a minority sport.  I do think there is some scope for manufacturers to produce dummy boots based on the last for each model, in various sizes, for dealers to stock and people to try - when I bought my Chorus I actually tried on different pairs of Overtures which they had in stock - I know they are exactly the same last, as are Concerto (think Ice Fly and Piano are different).  I've not checked whether other manufacturers use the same basic shape for multiple boots in their range.
Who knows I might take the plunge - I'm on a roll.  After many years in my inline skates I got so bothered by the feeling I was too much on outside edges that I moved by frames out a bit and it's made a big difference.

And for the hockey skaters, I noticed this (different company) -> https://bladetechhockey.com/pages/flex-force-advantage

Springy blade designed to increase speed, and reduce impact; approved by the NHL.
The greatest trick figure skaters ever pulled, was convincing the world it was easy.
