Random question; I just looked at the 'ISU 5 ECO-TIPS' 25 Nov 2024
Can anyone explain the picture (lower-right) of what looks to be a speed skater?
Stared at it for like 5 minutes thinking, that's not possible.. choctaws? :-)

Yes it's a weird picture.  Probably a speed skater could do that but why would they other than to mess about.

I note one of the "eco tips" is to prioritise vegetarian food.  Not sure how the ISU is qualified to pronounce on what we should be eating - shame some of my tax money probably finds its way to them via whatever we give to the IOC directly or indirectly.

Totally agree; I fear that like NISA/BIS, the ISU has been 'influenced' - they are now a 'vehicle' used to push an agenda.

Sentences like this are really creepy; what are they not telling us?

"The ISU recognizes that it must embrace sustainability as an imperative to protect its ‘licence to operate’ and fully maximizes the influence of ice skating as a force for positive behavioral change and planetary protection."

Indeed. I don’t believe in the “climate emergency” but if you truly did you’d shut down every rink immediately as they consume a huge amount of energy.
