Edea blades on other boots
« on: December 03, 2022, 04:15:03 pm »
Hey, I saw that for instance the Graf 500 or the risport antares have an edea blade. I was wondering why as these are differen brands? (I am just a little bit curious)

When I had Graf 500s they had an A4 blade, which is a Graf blade, they had a Graf logo on them. What makes you say they’re Edea?

You can mix and match blades and boots to find the perfect combination for you. :) Peronally, I have MK blades and Riedell boots. It's just personal preference... it could perhaps also be dependent on price or accessibility in your area as well?

On beginner boot and blade sets, it usually tends to depend on whatever blades are available at the time the boots are ready for them.

To put it bluntly, the beginner blades are not something you need to worry about because they're all very, very similar. The quality of the steel isn't brilliant and the rocker is pretty flat and they are designed that way to enable beginners to master the basics properly, without scaring themselves witless or getting too out of control.

When the time comes to progress to separate boots and blades, then you get to choose between John Wilson Coronation Ace or MK Professional, or possibly Legacy 7s. (Coronation Ace are always my recommendation.)

Returned to the ice in Sept 2017 after a major leg injury in 1999. Skating in Jackson Elite Pro & MK Vision Syncro. Still scary after all these years.
