I did have a look at the licensed coaches list (for 2019) and it showed (guesstimate based on names) a ratio of 26% men, to 74% women coaches. (not sure what the situation is like now)

https://www.iceskating.org.uk/edi
Read our Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan (published 21st Sept 2022)
Page 5 shows some equality data; rounded ratio of 23% men, to 77% women coaches

Can't seem to see the ratio of with regards the regular memberships.

I’m a bloke and I love figure skating but as long as there are not explicit barriers to participation I don’t see that there is a big problem if we find that levels are unequal along some arbitrary line like sex.

Specifically with regard to solo dance, it seems like free skating without the jumps to me, and don't boys like to jump?

"(about 8.26x ratio of women to men)"

Possibly that says more about how much keener women are than men on adult comps, or that there are more adult women than men in figure skating?  I think the numbers are more even in the juniors.  As a "sport" the participation is a lot higher, and even as a "serious" hobby that someone does regularly figure skaters seem outnumbered by hockey skaters and roller skaters.   The adult skaters I see where I skate are split more evenly between the sexes.
