ISU European Speed Skating Championships,
8-10 January 2016
Minsk, Belarus

For the first time, Republic of Belarus was granted the right to host the European Speed Skating Championships sanctioned by the International Skating Union (ISU). ISU European Speed Skating Championships will be held at 8-10 January 2016 in Minsk.

The best athletes from over than 20 European countries will participate in the Championships. Minsk has already hosted two major international competitions in speed skating – Junior World Cup events in 2012 and 2014.  It will be the last  European Speed Skating Championships that will include all-round disciplines.

Starting from 2017, the European Championships changes its format and the European champions will be determined by the single distance Championships.

It is planned that Belarus will be represented by Marina Zueva – three-times silver medalist of  the World Championships among the students 2014, she is a student of the Belarusian State University of physical culture.

During the European Speed Skating Championships 2016  the large-scale cultural-entertainment program for spectators will be organized.

The program will include different shows, contests  and mass ice skating for children and young people.

The Skating Union of Belarus has the honor to invite all the fans and amateurs of active life style  to visit this  sport holiday and cheer on the favorite athletes.
