Alexandre palace I heard the ice is really good in there

Yup it's usually good and generally consistent. I go there regularly. It's a nice rink.

It depends what you mean by good.  Given that the pad is only a couple of years old, I would say it is disappointing.  There often seems to be little care taken - the resurfaces are too rushed.  It's a common problem with rinks I skate at - Queens, Lee Valley, Brixton all seem to struggle to produce a good surface.  The Sobell is way ahead of them - consistently smooth, fast ice with few bobbles or ruts.

I guess it depends on what you are used to / comparing it to. Never been to Sobell personally.

Well it depends on when you go and how many you consider to be a lot  ;D. Obviously if you go on patch there will be other figure skaters. On the public sessions I go to there are usually one or two other figure skaters as well as some point.
