No, you are not alone.  I've been skating 3 years and still cannot do a 1-foot spin.  Not even 1 rotation.  I can do crossovers, learning jumps, backwards 1-foot glides are improving.

At least you can do 2 or 3 rotations...I can't even do 1.  :(

Everyone struggles with spins, whether they are doing basic one foot or flying camel.

It's not just you. It took me 9 months even to get the catch point to start the spin. 6 months after reaching that point I've only just got to the stage where I can regularly do 2 rotations and last week managed 3 rotations for the first time which I was able to repeat a couple of times a few days ago. It can be a very long process if you don't happen to be a natural spinner. All I can tell you about the technique is that you need to keep your weight directly over your skating foot, stand up straight and don't allow your shoulder to rotate backwards. There is clearly more to it than that but as I can't actually do it very well myself I'm not the best person to advise you.
Stick with it, it will come eventually although a few lessons might help.

i have struggled with spins over the last couple of months - i couldnt get the balance on my blade right and i was either going too far forwards and ending up on my toe pick or leaning too far back and ending up falling over. its only over the last couple of weeks that ive actually managed more rotations on my spins. Last week i managed 4 rotations, which is more than i used to be able to do.
i think the thing that really helped was practising the entry, because if that isnt right its going to be difficult. once i improved my entry i started getting more rotations :)
Working on L1 & 2, FM & E/ flip, lutz, 3-jump-loop combo, loop-loop combo, camel spin, sit spin variations and A spin.

You're not the only one.  Spins are what i struggle with most as well.  I've been working on them for months and the most I've ever got is 4 rotations, but that's only happened a couple of times.  They're so inconsistent.  One minute I'm balanced and centered and getting 3 rotations and the next I can't do one rotation without stumbling.  I can't offer much advice, but I did notice a slight improvement when I started paying attention to my free leg - trying to keep it still and close to my skating leg.  I'm hoping it's just a matter of time and practice.

no. it took me three years to be able to do a reasonable basic spin. what helped was a help of my coach and moving the blade.

It might sound like a weird question, but are your boots the correct size?  When I first took up skating I started out in off the shelf boots from the rink shop.  I struggled and struggled for what felt like an eternity to get a consistent spin.  Finally when I got a new pair of boots and had them fitted correctly, my blade size went down considerably and I was correctly balanced on the sweet spot and my spins appeared as if by magic.

Been working on my spins for years it feels like, at least 2!
I can now get about 5 revolutions. It was the hook I couldn't get, once I figured that out it got easier.
