a manipulative woman!angry bird
« on: July 30, 2013, 06:17:18 pm »
I just felt like i needed to vent this anger that up to this day still upset me...

long story short... about 6 months ago i was learning backward skating.. i usually look when i skate backwards... but this time, i decided to do it around the hockey circle in the middle of the rink...

i was Thinking that people wont come near it as its usually a spot for figure skaters who wanna learn something being in the way..

So this time.... i was skating backwards and was trying my hardest to do it properly... unill i heard a loud bank! Boom.... i collided with a woman  AND HIT MY HEAD IN THE ICE FIRST... i wasnt able to get up as it was hurting but guess what happened...??
This woman started shouted at me! She said i wasnt looking where i was going.... and that ive ripped her Top..She said it cost her £30 and its new and i just ripped it.. She didnt show any sympathy towards me at all.. she just yelled at me loud while i was on the ground..She yelled and yelled and asking me to  pay her £30..  i told her pls im dizzy at the moment ill deal with it but pls let me recover...... i just kept quiet after that as i was embarassed by what happened and i didnt know how to defend my self..

Then finally a couple of ice marshal went to my aid.. one girl who has given me an ice while the other marshal trying to calm her.. but she would not calm down..

She was telling people that ive ripped her clothes and that i should pay for it and that it cost £30.. She said she have witnesses ( who happened to be her children and a black person who i think was her lover).. I told her i dont have any money with me... i only have £10 left... she said well she had to go to the shop and buy the same clothes and that would cost her
pertrol and stuff so she didnt wanna take the £10...
Because of the situation.... the manager came along and try to calm her... all this time while shes yelling, i notice that her clothes that ive rippe accidentally, from a couple of inches  to almost half of the size of her cltohes... she showed it to the manager.. she said she got it from Topshop/Next or something... Unable to calm her down, the manager said ill pay you that £30 just calm down..

Since what happened, i was not able to go ice skating for  maybe two or 3 weeks coz i was scared of her... up to this day... i can vaguely remember what she looks like.. if i meet her again in the rink, i will just try and ignore her...

Since the accident happened, i was able to become friends / closer to the ice marshals and some regulars and they were on my side..

She said im sure her clothes was from primark she just wanted to get all the money she could get...

Sorry i just thought i had to vent this becoz up to this day, i still havent been over it yet..

I hope you guys wont come across to this people...

The woman who is 5.5 inchess tall, quiet fat... blond hair and looks scary.. her black lover was quiet comical really lols... He acts as if he is really important and he keep swearing... and stuff...

What you guys think? should i pay for the damages?

PS.. the upsetting part of it is that she manipulate the whole story  and made it worse... apparantly i nearly had collided her children twice ..! i was like wtf..

I think it was an accident and you should not pay for any damage. The person concern should claim on her insurance

Something similar happened to me except I was on the other side of the story. A beginner was learning to skate backwards and I was in a cannonball spin(head on knee). She wasn't looking behind her and all I could see was ice so I had no chance. She skated right in my spin and fell on top of me. I have no idea how she managed it but she'd taken a good chunk out of my new blades. Hobbled off the ice to my coach(sharpener) who tried her best but about a cm of my blade had caved in. I was down £150, had no blades, no money to replace them and a twisted ankle. All from a kid not looking behind them, so try and think about how she may have felt. Yeah she shouldn't have yelled at you but looking behind you is important

She was only about 8 and was so sorry. I was too busy trying to see if it would sharpen out to bother. It wasn't worth the hassle but they did buy me a box of chocolate!

I don't know, it may just be me, but all of your posts about skating seem so negative that I wonder why you even bother?

Most of your posts seem to be about how everyone else at the rink is at fault and trying to rain on your parade.

Perhaps you need to have a think about your attitdue and some of the changes that you might want to make from that.

One thing you certainly need to work on is the oblique racism in your post.

Well, I 'll back you on one point.

Regardless of who's at fault, someone was injured and that should have been the primary concern.  Someone who is worried about a rip clothing vs a possible head injury really doesn't live in reality.

I think she was wrong to treat you like that, anyone who steps on the ice should take responsibility for themselves. Fair enough she had cause to be miffed but she would have been just as likely to rip that top if fell over on her own. Maybe she should reconsider what she is wearing next time!

Don't worry what people think of you on here. Just because your posts might sound negative to others doesn't mean you are, tis just the wander of web interpretation! You could just as equally question their personality about being so quick to judge! Don't stop posting over isolated comments  :)

What others may see as negativity, May actually be just frustration driven by passion for the sport!
