Depends how old the boots are and what you've done with them.  If they're fairly new and you wouldn't reasonably expect them to fail within that time, or there's some fault with them, then you might have a case to get them replaced.  If that is the situation then you need to go back to the shop that supplied them.

If they're oldish boots and have taken a lot of heavy use - basically 'wear and tear' - then it's replace or repair.

Depends where you are as to who might be able to do a repair.  Might be worthwhile contacting Everglides or Rod Turner - or maybe HD Sports in Sheffield.

Glue on its own won't work; it also needs some mechanical reinforcement - basically a 'bolt' down through the heel such that the nut is well buried with appropriate sized holes and washers.  It's the sort of thing a good, old-fashioned, cobbler would have done.  Not to be attempted lightly.   You must have the appropriate drills, hacksaw, nut spinners, washers, bolt, workmate, space, etc.  If you've got nothing to lose, and you can't find a good skate technician in your area, then plan it out.  Provided you've got the tools, experience and some practical engineering skills then, if it fails, at worst it will cost you an evening's work and a pair of new boots.

It depends on your weight wether you can get away with a cheaper boot. When I was doing silver I had RF4's. Risport has changed the name of all its boots but have a look here: http://sixpointzero.com/boots?level=116

At the end of the day it's better to fork out now than break your ankle and not be ale to skate for 3 months.
