The camp was amazing, exceptionally well organised, couple of kinks to be ironed out but nothing major, the coaches were very inspiring, learnt so much, as a novice adult skater, I've come away with not only a better understanding of the basics but also little tips to help my skating flow better and to maximise movement and rhythm. Andrew took the Dance group, he was great, his enthusiasm for the sport and the way he explained the different elements were not only easy to understand but he made the learning process fun and inclusive for all, can't praise him enough.
First time I had been to Sheffield and its an amazing set up, such luxury to have 2 pads and not continually dip out to the Hockey teams. I stayed at the Ibis Budget hotel which was 2 mins say from rink and amazing good quality value for money.
The presence of NISA Board Directors was also useful and it was really pleasing to hear that the importance of the adult skating community is now being recognised.
From the 60 odd people that attended, I'm sure the feedback will be largely positive from us all, I'm so looking forward to the next camp and hopefully we could even have 2 a year (or even more).
Big Thank you to NISA for such a successful weekend

Had an amazing time - thankyou to David and the Adult Working group for arranging this! Will be sending (lots of) detailed feedback to David, however a couple of points:

1) Andrew (dance) was amazing - but asking one coach to deal with 19 skaters is a bit mean.
2) You really really can't effectively mix skate UK 5 skaters with NISA 5 skaters - someone is going to get missed out. The group really needed to be split by standard a bit more.
3) Could have done with more ice time, plus it would have been nicer to start/finish earlier on sunday so those driving home could get back before midnight.

But it was lovely to meet all the other skaters - especially the lovely Cardiff and Peterborough groups, and all the Sheffield skaters!

Had an absolutely fantastic time, would highly recommend and will definitely be going to the next one. Learnt so much and it's given me a great boost in confidence. Great atmosphere, felt lovely to get involved in the adult skating scene and I met so many great new friends!

I also LOVED Ice Sheffield, jealous of people who regularly get to skate there!

Hi,

It would be useful to hear from anybody who was nearer to the Skate UK 5 level of skating? How was it for you?

Thanks

Paul

To be honest, I don't think there was anyone there below bronze. We were in the lowest ability grouping, and everyone claimed to be at least bronze (though I had my doubts over one or two). The exercises we did were catered to bronze and above once they found that out, so they may have done different things had there been anyone lower than that level.
