Jackson Ultima blades
« on: February 25, 2012, 03:47:12 pm »
Hi guys! I am thinking of getting new blades (currently having the Mark IV)

Does anybody have the Jackson Ultima UB70 Lite Blade how does it compare to the Coronation Ace blade?

I am still doing my Skate UK at present - I am at level 7-8 but thinking of investing for the future so any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks!

Alice

Hi the blades that you are on now should see you through to Nisa level 1.
I would save your money for know then when you pass level 1 then look at C-Ace these should last until
Nisa Level 4-5 then look at the higher blades. O0

You can stick with Ultima blades if you so choose. Their line has only 8ft rockered blades but still has an equivalent blade to those manufactured by the other companies (eg. a coronation ace or MK professional equivalent and so on)  What you go into next greatly depends on you the skater. I personally never liked coronation ace. I could never gel with them and found them to be too rocky!! . I quickly went to pattern 99's and loved them. An 8ft rocker profile has always suited me best but that is for you and your coach to determine.
I don't believe in the no-win scenario. There is always a way to have your cake and eat it!!!

For what it is worth, I went from skating on a 2nd hand pair of old Fagan pathfinder blades circa 1960's or earlier (now I'm really showing my age), straight to MK Gold Star. My spins and jumps improved by 100% instantly. I have always skated on MK's Gold Star since then. All the best, Robert
