Well congratulations, you must have a natural talent for skating. I doubt I will beat you on level 8 as am currently going into week 10 on level 4  >:( . I guess I hold the record for level 4 at 9 weeks, as nobody except Derek (thanks) has replied.

I certainly can't beat that for Level 8, although I spent approximately 3 minutes on Level 5!

A skater friend had taught me how to do pretty good forward crossovers, and on the first lesson on Level 5, the coach saw me do them (as the first thing we did), picked me out of the group, whizzed me through the rest of the level and moved me up!

Although karma set in, and I then had a loooong time with 3-turns!  And a mental block with backward crossovers, after nearly concussing myself practicing them   :-[

Oh no!  Give me the advanced ones any day!  The relief when I could stop doing the beginner backward crossovers was immense - the advanced ones are so much more stable    :)

Airyfairy 76 - lol, i end up crossing my foot into the skating foot and tripping up on the advanced ones. i think i need to make sure i bring the foot that is crossing over in at a sharper angle

missk_ensington - 15 weeks :O amazing! you must have loads of talent. i have been skating for a total of 14 weeks now and hope to complete level 10 by christmas or new year.

icedancer15 - good luck with your next test :)

when i started courses they put me in level 5 from the beginning, which was kind of annoying because i couldnt do a lot of the stuff below that at the time.  I passed level 10 after 5 or 6 weeks.  I was having one private and one course lesson a week and i practiced most mornings for a few hours.  I then did passport in about 4 weeks and now im working on my level 2 elements, field moves and free.  I broke a bone in my hand in august, which has set me back a lot and i havent had any lessons since then  :( I could have done all my level 2 tests long before christmas, but that wont happen now.

I've now started level 1 coaching which is helping me with my skating as i now understand things and break things down which i never used to do, and most of the time if im doing something wrong, i know what it is and can correct myself.

i spoke to my coach last night about starting my lessons again, I will see her this afternoon for show rehearsals so I will sort it out then, I hope to start regular lessons again from next week.

I'm still working at the outdoor rink, im actually there this evening, which should be fun if the weather is anything like it is now  >:(

Its been busy november and this month, i have to fit in work between show rehearsals, and then coaching hours so theres no time to skate myself!! when the show is over i should get more time to skate!!
