Thursday: 8:30 - Registration 9 - 10 - Off ice class 10:30 - 12:30 - Ice time 12:30 - 13:30 - Lunch. 13:30 - 15:30 - Ice time. * Friday: 10:30 - 12:30 - Ice time. 12:30 - 13:30 - Lunch. 13:30 - 14:30 - Ice time. 14:45 - 15:45 - Motivational talk and Q&A session. * I look forward to sharing my passion for skating with the British adult skating community. The camp will cost £100 per skater to cover tuition, ice costs and studio hire. Please contact me via email to confirm attendance at [email protected]
Should there also be sufficient interest, I will try to arrange an evening of food and drinks for all in the nearby “Centertainment” restaurant area. With kind regards and best wishes, Mark Hanretty * Camp schedules subject to change depending on skater numbers and standards.

Anyone 'up for ' this? I think I will go as I have loved Sheffield Camps in the past. Will stay at Etap or Premier Inn.

Well it's cheaper than past sheffield camps (BITA ones), but sadly too expensive for me at the moment :( a shame cause my birthdays the 16th so a trip to sheffield would've been a nice present to myself! ;) If I do guildford open, camp is definately not an option :(

Sheffield is a lovely rink, and I've heard good thinks about Mark Hanretty, so hopefully plenty of other people will go!

I'm interested - will have to check my diary but it sounds good and I love Mark - he's a lovely coach.

I'd be happy to share a room with someone at the Premier Inn (but will never stay in an Etap ever again!)

Thanks luv2sk8, yes that does look interesting. Has he got dedicated ice time for the camp - he's done well to get those blocks of time?

Is it the first one he's done? presumably he'll have other coaches alongside him too? Will it be mostly dance do you think? Has he given any idea of what levels of skaters it'll be aimed at? Sorry about all the questions! I presume you may not know any more than it says in the blurb that you've put up.

I will send him your questions and let you know the answers I am sure he will respond. Re other coaches his partner Cathy Green will also be coaching on the course.

Here is the reply Gwyneth 23 hope that helps.
Hi Jilly,
It will be primarily focussed on basic skating skills so I suppose dance based. I am opening it up to all levels in the hope that everyone can glean some use from the importance of good posture, knee bend and extension. It is possible that the range of standards may not be a wise move, but I will find that out in due course.

The more varied the abilities, the more likely I am to bring in extra coaches.

That's interesting - thanks IQ!

I'm sure it would do me a lot of good to focus on the 'basics' and to improve the elegance etc of my skating, which is pretty rubbish compared to the beautiful fluid skating that I see you and others doing. But I'm a bit unsure about spending a whole two days on it!!
