I have noticed the amount of threads that get started asking about practice ice/patch ice info for various rinks across the UK has risen lately. So, I decided it would be helpful if we could collectively compile a thread which includes information about the rink you skate at for quick reference.

In the replies if you could give as much information as possible such as: Name of rink, Location, Times for sessions (if possible), any min level requirements, prices and any other policy’s that are relevant.

National Ice Centre - Nottingham

Price: £7 per hour. Pay at Ice Sports reception.
Times: Vary week in week out, check schedule here.
Min Level: Skate UK Level 8
Booking requirements: Must be booked 24 hrs in advance at the ice sports reception.
Min/Max skaters on session: 2 - 25

Monday - 6am-8.30am, 12-1pm, 4pm-5.15pm
Tuesday - 6am- 8.30am, 12-1pm, 4pm-6pm
Wednesday - 6am- 8.30am, 12-1pm
Thursday - 6am- 8.30am, 12-1pm, 4pm-6pm
Friday - 6am- 8.30am, 12-1pm
Saturday - 6am-8.30am

Times change during school holidays, when there is no lunchtime patch and evening patches start a little later. Morning patch lasts until 10am when the Devils aren't training, which i think is most of the time, especially over the summer.



Price: £4 per session
Booking/payment: no booking facility, pay coach on the ice (your coach if you're having a lesson, otherwise the head coach) and sign the patch book
Min/Max level: none
Other policies: no music on the main sound system before 8am, but there is a portable sound system around before then. It was in response to complaints from local residents, but not sure how much difference there is in the volume
Parking: free at the rink
Public transport: buses 9, 9A and 35 run regularly between the city centre and the rink

Be warned it changes every week, and a detailed list of times is published 1-2 weeks in advance.

Price - £80 per month (unlimited) / about £6 per hour (or cheaper if you book 24 hours in advance)

I think a single patch is £4.60 if booked 24 hours inadvance and or £6 if booked on the day.  Patch unlimited is £78 or if there is limited ice available in the month its reduced to £66.

The unlimited patch does not allow you to skate on public sessions.

Be warned that the patch ice available on Thursday and Friday morning after 9am is for skaters of nisa level 3 and above  the elite patches are for those of nisa 8 and above.
