No problem,  I started  ice skating a year ago last February, so about 16 months,   I had been once or twice before if I  was on holiday or if  My  youth club did a trip,  but never went regular before that.

sweeneytodd you have done really well in just over a yr.

I am about to start skating (I'll be 26 in Nov) and want to see how far I can get. I'll be having a 1/2hr lesson each week plus 2hrs practice after, I may try and get another 2hrs in if I have the time & money.

I used to rollerskate as a kid and was quite good unfortunatly they change the rink into a bowling alley and my mum refused to drive me a long way for lessons :(
Rink: Lee Valley
Start date: Oct 2008-2009 / re-start Jun 2011
Level: LTS 5-10 + passport!!!
Lesson: Private

Hi I skate mainly in Nottingham, but do travel around a bit, so make use of any rinks nearby for practise.   I also used to  roller skate so think thats helped my balance quite a bit,  however i have found its made things like jumps and spins harder.   I have had  the same problem with the roller rinks closing or the leisure centres that used to have clubs stopping, which was a real shame but I am really getting into the ice skating now.
