Very sad news.  I am surprised so many rinks have survived this long and fear it won't continue.  Much as I love ice, unless government policy changes the only viable future for UK skating is on wheels, in indoor venues like school sports halls with an inherently lower cost base.

Yup.  I really can't see Plymouth's old rink reopening.  It would be risking bankruptcy to relay the ice pad and then have to close again.  :-(   Sad times.
Returned to the ice in Sept 2017 after a major leg injury in 1999. Skating in Jackson Elite Pro & MK Vision Syncro. Still scary after all these years.
