Do girls have to wear white figures?
« on: February 05, 2007, 10:24:13 pm »
I know girls wear white and boys wear black but does anyone know if girls can wear black if they want to (just for practice) or is it like skating law and everyone would laugh at you? :o

I've just never seen any girls in black and I saw a nice second hand pair for sale so I thought I'd ask! Where do you skate sweenytodd?

Nottingham..   A lot of girls wear the boot covers for practice so doesn't matter what type of boots you do wear for that.  Is worth noting that   some competitions won't let you wear the covers if you were thinking of competing.

girls generally have white or beige, and boys generally have black, but if ure buying second hand and black is whats available, then you could either get some white boot covers, or wear over the boot tights(the post about the not wearing boot covers in competitions, generally in a competition your choices are nice clean white skates, or over the boot tights, so you could get black if you wanted)

But on that note, if your buying second hand try asking around the skaters that look like theyve been going for a while, chances are theyll have several old pairs of skates that you could try.
