Nottingham skaters!
« on: May 18, 2017, 01:32:39 pm »
Hey guys,

I'm moving to Notts soon for uni and I'm trying to gather info on skating- national ice centre haven't been helpful at all. (I'll try to keep things as brief as possible regarding my questions- sorry if I come across as abrupt!)

I need info on patch/practice ice- when is it? How long is it? How much is it? And is there a monthly membership scheme?

Coaches- hoping to pursue 1-2-1 lessons- Want to start NISA ice dance levels and continue field moves (level 2) although I'm hoping to take that test fairly soon- if not before actually getting to Nottingham. Can anyone recommend a coach? And also if anyone knows average prices for a 30mins session

Finally, looking at my proposed uni schedule, it seems evening will be best for me, so I'm wondering how busy public ice is in the 1930-2130 slot on weekdays, and if the ice is zambonied Just before the session?

Thanks for reading! And for any help you can offer!
❤❤❤

https://bookings.national-ice-centre.com/

Also remember to check what events are on since the schedule will change; https://www.motorpointarenanottingham.com/online/events

From memory, downstairs there is a notice board in the corridor between the two rinks which has the coaches details.
The greatest trick figure skaters ever pulled, was convincing the world it was easy.

Hiya, I skate at the NIC all the time and use the practice ice. If you go onto the NIC website and scroll down right to the bottom of the page, there should be a clickable button that says 'schedule' if you click on that it will come up with a PDF on the ice schedule and it will display the practice ice (pink colour block).
Hope this helped!
I would post a link but it won't let me

I can't remember what the threshold is but after a while you can post links - it's to stop spam.  One of the moderators might know more.
