I went skating at the Castleknock rink today, and had an absolutely fab time. I spent the time mostly trying to get my ice legs back, but it felt soooo good to be back. Now hope I can break the skates in as when I got them over a year ago, never had ample skating after losing our rink to break them in properly - the leather is still quite stiff, not enough forward flex on them yet, but am sure after a few weeks all will be good on that front.
I just felt so happy, free and alive on the skate, and for most of the first hour I was there, I had the whole rink to myself
. I am still grinning from ear to ear after my wonderful skate today
