the standard seems pretty high on the video :o, are you guys here also at that level in competition???? There're very few genuine adults at our rink who can skate anywhere near that level not counting the young adults that started as kids.
Do they differenciate adult starter vs kid starter that are adults now in competition???

Batikat - thank you for a wonderful video!

Icy_Matt, the standard of the best skating in that video isn't very different to the highest standards you'll see at competitions like Bracknell and the British Adult Championships.  There are also a lot of lower level competitors at both events.

In terms of the competition there is no distinction between skaters who started as youngsters and those who started as adults.

This chap seems very competent and fluid and slips in little clever footwork bits that seem beyond what most adults I've seen here in the UK accomplish.  I also like the way he just turns up and does it in his about-the-house or going-to-the-shops clothes rather than dress up in all that frilly nonsense.  http://www.youtube.com/user/brki#p/a/u/0/FwMf2NhZ1J0

The false smile to start is off putting; some genuine smiles as he leaves the ice though.
I find the pretend competition faces slightly creepy.

Like the change of edge hydroblade though :coolsmiley: I've been working on that move (left leg) in the past.

smelltheice; you can keep your "sparkles and frilly bits"  ;D ;D
The greatest trick figure skaters ever pulled, was convincing the world it was easy.
